RESIDENTIAL ROOFING
Residential roofing for Yakima and Kittitas homes
New roofs, re-roofs and decking on shingle, metal, slate, shake and tile homes, from an Ellensburg and Yakima crew that has roofed here since 2000.
Chapter 01
What wears out first on a Central Washington roof
Wind gets to a roof first. It lifts the edge of a shingle tab, breaks the seal, and the next gust takes the shingle with it. Ellensburg is called The Windy City for a reason, and a roof here has to be fastened for it.
Look in your gutters. Small gritty granules mean the shingles are losing the coating that sheds sun and water. Water stains on a ceiling, curled or missing shingles and soft spots underfoot are the other early signs.
Underneath, the decking takes the damage you cannot see. Soft, rotted or moisture-damaged decking may need replacement before new roofing goes on, and we explain any extra damage we find once the old materials come off.

How a residential job runs, start to finish
We start on the roof and in the attic. We inspect, take measurements and fly a drone for detailed photos, then check the attic for ventilation, insulation and moisture problems. Next comes a consultation where we walk you through the options and every step of the job.
You get a clear proposal with the project steps, pricing and terms. Roof systems come in three tiers, Most Trusted, Trusted and Basic, so you can compare real options side by side. Once you approve, the crew schedules your start.
On the job, Catch-All protection keeps your siding, windows and landscaping safe from falling debris. We use the Equipter to take old roofing off without damaging your yard, a dedicated project manager stays on it, and the crew cleans up every day.
Chapter 03
Materials and the warranty behind them
We install asphalt shingles from CertainTeed and Malarkey, standing-seam metal, slate and cedar shake, and clay or concrete tile. Dan Schilperoot started the company with tile work in 2000.
Our Gust Guard system is exclusive to Columbia Plateau. Sure Grip fasteners put 50% more fasteners in your roof than the industry standard, and the warranty guards against shingle blow-offs for as long as you own and live in the home.
Columbia Plateau holds CertainTeed ShingleMaster Premier status and is a Malarkey Emerald Premium Contractor, with manufacturer and workmanship warranty protection. Profund financing is available for qualifying projects, and veteran and senior discounts apply.
“The job was a complete new roof. It was done in less than a week.” Janice Brazeau, Google review.
