Gust Guard · Glacier Guard

Built for the Windy City

Shingle blow-offs are the Ellensburg roof problem, and most manufacturer wind warranties stop at 15 years. Gust Guard is Columbia Plateau's own installation system: Sure Grip fasteners, 50% more than the industry standard, and a lifetime warranty against blow-offs. On metal roofs, Glacier Guard holds back sliding snow and ice.

Credentialed by the makers

CertainTeed ShingleMaster Premier and Malarkey Emerald Premium, which is what lets them write the longest manufacturer-backed labor warranties in the area.

Their own flashing shop

Custom flashing is bent in house, so valleys, chimneys and copper details fit the roof instead of the catalog.

Voted best roofer, again

Yakima Herald-Republic Reader's Choice 2023, Best of Kittitas County twice, and Business Times best roofer seven years in a row.

What the crew does

A roof, layer by layer

Every Columbia Plateau job is read from the attic up: decking, flashing, the fasteners that hold in the wind, the surface you see from the street, and what the winter piles on top. Each layer has a crew that knows it.

Roof replacement

Full tear-off and replacement on homes across Yakima and Kittitas counties. Catch-All netting protects siding, windows and beds, the Equipter hauls old roofing without rutting the yard, and a project manager stays on the job until it is cleaned up.

How a replacement runs
  • Copper standing-seam roof on a stone and sage-green house

    Surface layer

    Metal and copper roofing

Standing-seam steel and copper, with custom flashing bent in their own small fabrication shop. Glacier Guard keeps sliding snow and ice from tearing at gutters and lower roofs.

    Roof repair

Blown-off shingles, failed flashing, leaks and storm damage, found and fixed. When a barn owner's discontinued three-tab shingles were sold out everywhere, the crew still had bundles to match the repair.

    Commercial roofing

Businesses, churches and apartment buildings: metal, TPO and PVC systems with GAF and Duro-Last credentials, run on schedule so the building stays open while the roof goes on.

    Commercial roofing
  • Green metal roof over cedar shake walls with snow on the ground

    Snow and ice

    Snow and ice dam removal

Ice dams come off with a low-pressure steamer, not hatchets or salt, before meltwater backs up under the shingles. Then they tell you why the dam formed and how to stop the next one.

Church roof, May 2026

They cleaned up the area every day and made sure the building was accessible for Sunday services at the end of every work week. This was a tough building to roof and the crew did a wonderful job!

Complete new roof

The job was a complete new roof. It was done in less than a week. Afterward the estimator, Zach, returned for a thorough inspection including vent inspections in the attic.

Northgate shingles + Gust Guard

We are very happy with the 50yr St Gobain CertainTeed Northgate Climate Flex shingles, the Gust Guard system, and the 30yr workmanship warranties, the meticulous job Jose’s crew did and the cleanup.

Not just a new roof: the whole job

How every Columbia Plateau project runs, from the first ladder to the last magnet sweep.

  1. Inspection and Evaluation

They measure the roof, fly a drone for detailed photos and go into the attic to spot problems the shingles hide.

  2. Consultation

You get every option explained: materials, the Most Trusted, Trusted and Basic roof systems, and each step of the job.

  3. Proposal and Approval

A clear written proposal with the project steps, pricing and terms. Financing through Profund if it helps.

  4. Project Execution & Completion

Catch-All protection goes up, the crew cleans up every day, and nothing is left in the yard when they drive away.

Questions homeowners ask first

Straight from the office. More on the roofing FAQ page.

Missing shingles, leaks, sagging, or lots of granules in your gutters usually mean a roof is near the end. We can come out, inspect it and tell you honestly whether a repair will do.

It depends on the material and the size of the home. On average a roof runs anywhere from $7,000 to $25,000. After the inspection you get a detailed estimate with no surprises.

Most replacements take 1 to 3 days, depending on how big and complex the roof is. You will know the schedule when we give you the estimate.

Sometimes. It depends on the condition of the existing roof and local building codes, and the inspection tells us which option is right.

Yes. Gust Guard is our own installation system, exclusive to Columbia Plateau: Gust Guard Sure Grip fasteners, 50% more than the industry standard, and a Gust Guard lifetime warranty against shingle blow-offs. As a CertainTeed and Malarkey credentialed contractor we can also offer extended manufacturer warranties.

We primarily serve Central Washington: Yakima County, Kittitas County and the towns around them, from Union Gap and Yakima to Ellensburg, Cle Elum and Moses Lake.
